Guitar Workshop

Rock 'n Roots Fingerpicking
Old Town School of Folk Music
Chicago

Sunday Nov 7, 2010

at 2:00 pm
Move forward with your guitar playing by looking back! Early Rock ‘n Roll songs were often very melodic, with obvious blues and R&B roots. Blaise will take you through one or two fingerpicking solo instrumental arrangements of classic 50’s hits, note by note, using tab. We’ll start out with one of LaVern Baker’s early hits - "Tweedlee Dee".
This will expose you to new techniques for sliding & slurring notes and maintaining a bass theme. And you’ll learn how using that left-hand little finger can make all the difference. For intermediate or advanced fingerpicking students who want to expand their repertoire.
REGISTER NOW | Price: $20 773-728-6000 or, at oldtownschool.org
