Guitar Workshop

Fingerpicking 6O's Classics

Saturday  October 15, 2016   2pm

When it comes to iconic songs, you can’t get any more iconic than Willie Nelson’s “Crazy”.  When Patsy Cline recorded the song in 1962 it immediately shot to the top of the charts. Her slow, aching rendition, with its elegant arrangement, made this one of the most famous hits of all time. And, it remains a top juke box selection today.   Dozens of artists have recorded “Crazy” over the years, but none have ever achieved the classic status of Patsy’s version. We will mimic her version as a solo guitar instrumental.

We’ll also learn an instrumental arrangement of another classic - Freddy Fender’s “Wasted Days and Wasted Nights".  (see my post of June, 2009).

Blaise will guide you through each song emphasizing techniques and style - hammer-ons and pull offs, slides and slurs; all following tab notation.  If you aren’t a singer, but just want to build your guitar skills and repertoire …this is for you.

Intermediate or advanced fingerpicking, and bar chord ability required.
